Dr Lalitha de Silva MBBS, FRC(PSYCH), DPM is a Private Consultant Psychiatrist with in excess of 25 years experience in the assessmewnt and treatment of all aspects of mental health, psychologiy and psychiatry.
Dr de Silva's clinical experience includes holding the position of Consultant Psychiatrist and a fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is a private Consultant Psychiatrist practising in London, Windsor and Reading. Dr De Silva has over 25 years experience in the management and treatment of all aspects of mental health problems, ranging from anxiety, shyness, phobias, panic attasks, depression, bipolar disorder all the way through to to schizophrenia, psychosis and persoanlity disorders. In addition to her expertise in general psychiatry she is a specialist who has interest and expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of Eating Disorders (Anoreixa, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorders, Obesity and other food intake related issues. Dr de Silva helps to treat adults and adoelscents over the age of 16 for general psychiatric and mental health issues and children over 11 years old for the treatment of eating disorders.
Dr de Silva is registered with the General Medical Council (Membership number: 1576300), she holds the Medical degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S). She completed her training in Psychiatry at Charing Cross and St Georges Hospital Medical Schools within London. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr De Silva's training in the field of Eating Disorders was obtained at the Eating Disorders Unit of St Georges Hospital in London. Dr De Silva is registered on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. She is also approved as having significant expertise in the assessment and treatment of mental disorders by the Secretary of State under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983) and therefore has been granted the Approved Clinician status.
