Dr De Silva held the position forthe Royal College of Psychiatrists as a Senior Examiner for Doctors who specialised in psychiatry's final exams
Dr Lalitha de Silva held the position of a Clinical Tutor for Junior Psychiatrists for over five years and as a Regional Advisor for the Continuing Medical Education of Senior Psychiatrists for in excess of five years. She remans as a Senior Tutor for the medical students from The University College Hospital. She has had specific research published in the field of General Psychiatry as well as in the field of Eating Disorders. Dr de Slva has also been a professional advisor for a European Journal for Eating Disorders and she has presented at a number of international conferences.
Dr De Silva was the Meidal Director of the NHS Healthcare Trust In Berkshire for over five years, in addition she was the Service Manager of the Berkshire Eating Disorders Service for a year. Within the private sector Dr de Silva has held the position of Clinical Director at the Cardinal Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital in Windsor between 2007 and 2013.
In addition to her general psychiatry and eating disorder national roles Dr De Silva has been a Medical Examiner within the Nursing and Midwifery Council and a Medical Member of Mental Health Review Tribunals, a position she held for over 5 years. She has been an investigator for inquiries and complaints regarding the standard of care within the NHS.
Dr de Silva;s professional memberships include: The General Medical Council (GMC number: 1576300), The Royal Society of Medicine, European Council for Eating Disorders and the Academy for Eating Disorders.
